I finally finished my dressers!
I can hear cheers coming from all over
Thank you, thank you.
I've had the dressers since October so it's about time I got around to finishing them.
It took a good four hours to sand down the paint on all the frame and the drawers only to find pressed wood and plastic.
I was bit let down, but the dresser has such I couldn't stop picturing what it looked like.
The bound and determined face.
Notice dusties on the forehead and eyes. Intense sanding is my game.
My arms still hurt.
This was Saturday.
After sanding I gave it a good wipe down with a damp cloth and got to painting.
After finishing the first drawer I noticed I kept dripping paint through the handle holes.
I built a little dam with painters tape on the backside of the holes.
After successfully coral-ing (new word, I hear Ms. Miriam Webster is taking it up soon) and by successfully I mean a little sloppily..
I painted all of the trims.
After letting that dry I cleaned up the smudges with itty brushes.
Then this handsome hooligan helped me leave everything out to dry for the night.
The next morning I sprayed it all down with some shellac to seal in the paint and...
BAM!
I got myself a bangin' finished dresser.
Even if one of the handles is broken.
BFFs.
Keep a look out for Beyoncé concert stories next week. ;)
Have a wonderful weekend!
