Every year my family designates a day to chow our way through the State Fair. Last week Friday we packed the stroller with a sleepy Bella, put on our best people watching glasses, and braved the swarms of people to eat delicious food and gawk at animals.
Precursor-All of this food is very...well...Fair-like. Be prepared to see lots of greasy-fatty-cheesy concoctions. Aaaaannnd we shared everything. There is no way I could eat all of this by myself.
The ladies.
Pizza cone.
Ben's take on flavored milk.
My first video on the blog!! I really hope that this works...please tell me if it doesn't. :)
Here is state fair another video from Vine.
You can find me @lisamariepappalardo
Deep fried pepperjack macaroni with bacon.
Wooooooooooaaah.
Deep fried cauliflower.
Shufflin' through the coupons.
Can't miss any good ones!
Bloomin' onion.
The guy's bein' manly-men and gettin' tattoos.
Bella is rough'n'tough too.
Chocolate covered bacon.
He's just jealous.
Ok, this is the best deal you will get at the Fair.
In the Wisconsin Products Pavilion, formally known as the AG Building, there is a Usinger's booth where you can choose from a couple of different sausages all served on a pretzel roll, get this, for $3.00.
This my friends is an Italian sausage with green peppers and onions on a pretzel roll.
Delicious.
Now in the same building you will want to find a buddy. Now you and your buddy need to go find the mini-cookies. Then go head over to the Cedar Crest booth and get your favorite ice cream...
enough said.
And you can't forget about the infamous cream puff.
The next day Stef asked me what I as doing...guess where we went?
For this day my plan was to lay off of the crazy-greasy foods, have a few beverages, and look at the animals...
we snacked on some interesting exotic meats and ventured through the barns.
Ostrich was delicious by the way. Kangaroo was good too, but nothing special.
After sneakily petting bunny rabbits and watching geese eat their neighbors ^^ joking, joking.
It does look like it though, doesn't it?
We began to get hungry.
And then we lost it.
Funnel cake.
I mean, how do you go to a fair without getting one??
And what they call a deep fried fat Elvis--Reese's peanut butter cup in banana batter, deep fried, then covered in chocolate and bacon bits.
It was delicious.
For the rest of the afternoon Stef and I walked around the park with a couple more doppelbocks and people watched.
State Fair is just such a Wisconsin staple thing to do--it's almost a sin if you don't go at least once. It's definitely something that I look forward to every year.
